FLASH NEWS!  Today the children, the men, and the women in Chiapas are harvesting a gift for you and your family!

Throughout n the Mexican southeast Mayan men, women and children are scouring their corn fields by hand to harvest every ear of corn and share their heritage with you.  Like all Mayan people, the Zapatistas base their lives and their calendar and their diet on corn.

Ixim. Maiz. Zea mays, Corn.  Call it what you may, in many places in the world ? especially in the Americas and in Africa - corn is the staff of life.  Monsanto and others want to own that staff; the monster corporations and their power brokers want to control the lives and hopes fed by GMO-free corn. 

The Zapatistas tell us they will resist control by the Monsanto?s and the governments until the planet is free of genetically modified crops.  You can help this fertile resistance.  Plant the seeds of resistance yourself or contribute to keep hope alive.  Yes you can!

Hoy l@s niñ@s, mujeres y hombres de Chiapas están cosechando un regalo para ti y para tu familia.
Por todo el sudeste mexicano los hombres, mujeres y niñ@s mayas están trabajando a mano en sus milpas (campos de maíz) para recoger cada espiga de maíz y compartir sus bienes contigo. Como tod@s l@s mayas, los Zapatistas basan sus vidas, su dieta y su calendario en el maíz.

Ixim. Maiz. Zea mays, Corn.  Llámalo como quieras, en muchos lugares del mundo ? especialmente en las Américas y en África, el maíz es el origen y la raíz de la vida. Monsanto (entre otros) quiere adueñarse de esa raíz, de esa llave de vida, las monstruosas multinacionales y sus poderosos agentes quieren hacerse con el control de las vidas y las esperanzas alimentadas por ese maíz No Modificado Genéticamente.
Los Zapatistas nos dicen que resistirán al control de Monsanto y al del gobierno hasta que el planeta esté libre de cosechas modificadas genéticamente. Y tú puedes contribuir a esta fértil resistencia. Planta las semillas de resistencia tú mismo o contribuye a mantener viva la esperanza. ¡Es posible y tú puedes!
