Language Courses

Hello everyone,
I have been looking at the language courses offered in Chiapas, and just wanted to ask:
I am in the United Kingdom, and there is no 'accrediting body' listed for here. Does anyone have a recommendation on the best thing to do if I wanted to come on a language course?
Many thanks and best wishes,
Emma

If you had a professor willing to let you create an "Independent Study" course I think that may work.
While I was in Chiapas this summer, I saw the school in Oventic and the place where students slept and studied. It looks adequate but does not appear to have an infrastructure like the US or Europe. If you have a professor supporting you in designing an independent study course and approve you for credit at your home institution, I think that this could be a wonderful learning experience.
I would like to return to Oventic and study Tsotil or Tzetal. Best wishes.

Hi Emma,
You might want to check out the page on our web-site regarding studying at the language school.
http://www.schoolsforchiapas.org/english/chiapas-travel/language-study-program.html
There a couple of links on the page that will help you make contact with the language school and the accrediting organizations. I don't think you have to be accredited by an EU based organization.
Good luck.
