Give the gift of education in Chiapas, Mexico to a loved-one who cares about children, social justice, education, and indigenous peoples.  You may choose any amount from $1 to $500 on the payment calculator at the bottom of this page - feel free to make multiple gifts to everyone at work, school, and home!.

We'll e-mail a full-color certificate to you or a friend stating, "A donation has been made in your honor to support autonomous, indigenous education in Chiapas, Mexico.  Schools for Chiapas and the Mayan communities in Chiapas, Mexico thank you for your contribution to freedom-loving education in the Mexican southeast."  In addition, a beautiful “Thank You” card will be mailed to every person you honor with this meaningful gift.

We know that times are tough, but these indigenous designed, run, and staffed schools offer a beacon of hope not only for the Mayan peoples of Chiapas but to people-of-conscience everywhere. Your contribution to Mayan educational programs will support rural schools and education centers dedicated to literacy, health, agro-ecology, and fairer-trade commercialization.

Below is a listing of how your gift will help:
~   $10 provides a dictionary AND a Zapatista songbook.
~    $25 purchases an overhead classroom light.
~    $25 grows and plants ten fruit & rainforest trees.
~    $35 gives one student classroom supplies of an entire year.
~    $35 buys seeds and tools for an elementary school garden.
~    $50 will provide a pair of eye glasses.
~    $65 tests eighty individual corn plants for GMO contamination.
~    $75 installs a window or inside door on an education center.
~    $100 delivers one  blackboard or a new student table.
~    $120 ($10 per month) buys basic school supplies for one classroom.
~    $600 ($50 per month) provides food and clothing for an indigenous teacher.
~    $7,500 completes one classroom. $750 more provides desks and chairs.

New and used musical instruments are also urgently needed.  In particular we are seeking a piano, 5 guitars, two accordions, 5 violins, 3 trumpets,  2 harps, and a marimba.
