This much needed educational project will train teachers and other leaders in the Mayan communities of Chiapas, Mexico.
Paul Mann was a creative and dedicated teacher activist from the United States who long supported the autonomous, indigenous schools of Chiapas, Mexico. After Paul died unexpectedly his family, friends, and union colleagues in the Peace and Justice Caucus of the National Education Association (NEA) began planning a memorial in Chiapas. ~ $75 installs a window or inside door at the Paul Mann Memorial School in Chiapas.
~ $100 provides one large blackboard or a new student desk & chair at Paul’s school.
~ $120 ($10 per month) buys basic school supplies for one classroom.

New and used musical instruments are also urgently needed. In particular we are seeking a piano, 5 guitars, two accordians, 5 violins, 3 trumpets, a harp, and a marimba.
