Donate today to support the reconstruction of the Paul Mann Memorial School and Music Center in Chiapas, Mexico.  Paul Mann was a creative and dedicated teacher activist from the United States who long supported the autonomous, indigenous schools of Chiapas, Mexico. After Paul died unexpectedly his family, friends, and union colleagues in the Peace and Justice Caucus of the National Education Association (NEA) began planning a memorial in Chiapas. This much needed educational project will train teachers and other leaders in the Mayan communities.  We will send a beautifully printed school bond in the mail to everyone who purchases a school bond online. 

Examples of how your memorial gift for Paul Mann will help:

□    $10 puts a dictionary AND a Zapatista songbook into the Paul Mann school.
□    $25 provides a classroom light for the Paul Mann school in Chiapas, Mexico.
□    $40 will replace and paint a small wooden post in the reconstructed school.
□    $75 installs a window or inside door at the Paul Mann Memorial School in Chiapas.
□    $100 provides one large blackboard or a new student desk & chair at Paul’s school.
□    $120 ($10 per month) buys basic school supplies for one classroom.
□    $600 ($50 per month) repairs and seals an adobe wall at Paul’s school.
□    $7,500 completes one classroom of five classrooms. $750 more provides desks.

New and used musical instruments are also urgently needed.  In particular we are seeking a piano, 5 guitars, two accordians, 5 violins, 3 trumpets, a harp, and a marimba.
