Cacao is a beautiful rainforest tree which is native to Chiapas and grown by many small Zapatista farming families.  The seeds of Cacao tree are the basis for all chocolate and have been enjoyed by the Mayan people for thousands of year.  During the winter holidays these seeds are harvested, fermented and ground to make wonderful hot chocolate drinks .  Our Chiapas team has gotten really fixated on these little nibbles and we're happy to offer small  numbers of this raw, organic food to our bases of support.  Each package contains about 25 seeds for only $5.00.  Cacao is a natural source of caffeine so don't eat too many all at once or you'll get a big buzz while puckering up your mouth - yummy and healthy too!
