The Zapatista health system makes extensive, but not exclusive, use of traditional and non-traditional herbal medicines.  Schools for Chiapas is currently cooperating closely with agro-ecology promoters and health promoters to introduce Neem trees into many Zapatista health and education centers.

The Zapatista health system also provides patent medicines free of charge to Zapatistas and a low cost to non-Zapatista community members.  Therefore,  there is also a great need for medicines.  Schools for Chiapas also coordinates donations for medical supplies and urges our supporters who have access to patent medicines to donate these directly to the Zapatista health system.  We will be glad to facilitate such donations.
