Schools for Chiapas is made up of men and women who voluntarily join together to make the world a better place. We are young and old; rich and poor; we speak a variety of languages; we come in a variety of skin tones; we are of a multitude of sexual orientations; and we live on a number of continents. Some of us have spiritual and religious practices; many of us are involved in community, workplace, union, student, cultural, environmental, and peace activism.
In summation our organization attempts to be diverse, inclusive, and activist.

Schools for Chiapas is also made up of individuals and organizations who sacrifice financially into order to support freedom-loving educational programs in Chiapas while organizing, educating, and agitating for justice, democracy, and dignity around the world. Many have organized special events such as dinners, concerts, parties, and dances in order to contribute. A very few families of wealth have funded large programs and others occasionally send a check in the mail. A growing number of Schools for Chiapas supporters have chosen to take advantage of our credit-card check off program that allows individuals and businesses to designate a automated monthly donation from their credit card, paypal or bank account. Even very small, monthly contributions are very helpful to small grassroots organization like ours because it means we have some idea about what the budget will be from month to month. It gives us a dependable base from which to grow!
